Akeelah and The Bee

Lots of issues showed in this movie like death of a parent, death of a child, murder, intelligence, not fitting in, winning or losing, and confidence level through a competing situation. Some of the ending winning of the Bee was unexpected. This movie is about achieving something. Akeelah, a school student who doesnt attend her classes or study, happens to be good at spelling. Struggling with her family situation she gets guidance and support to make her way up.

This is an inspiring film that offers hope to our youth, especially to those whose lives may seem hopeless. The acting was good and the message was wonderful. I think this is a good movie for families to see. There's nothing bad in it at all.

Aladdin - "Nobility of the faith"

Who is Aladdin? Where did he come from?
I'm pretty sure everyone have heard the name of Aladdin.
It is one of famous tales in The Book of One Thousand and One Nights (Arabian Nights).

1. The reasons you choose the story.

The reason why I choose this story is because it have good moral of the story to the children. The moral of the story is that greatness and strength comes from within, not from without. This is demonstrated by Aladdin's bravery and intelligence despite his humble upbringing.

2. What element(s) in the story that make you think that the story is interesting.

I think the most interesting part is when Aladdin refuses to turn over the lamp, the magician seals him up inside the cave. In despair Aladdin rubs the lamp, which summons the genie and makes him Aladdin's slave.

3.The portrayal of characters in the story

Aladdin is the hero of the story! He is an orphaned street rat who, to stay alive must steal food from the market where he lives, he also steals for his best friend - Abu, a monkey! Aladdin has a very kind nature, and even if he is starving, he is still willing to give food away to people more in need.

4. The plot of the story.

The story of Aladdin is the story in which a boy finds a wonderful lamp, which gives him control of a genie who can effect nearly any extraordinary transformation that the boy requests. When Aladdin, a poor street boy, finds an old lamp hidden deep in a cave he becomes the master of a magical genie.

5. The suitability of the story as children story.

This story is great for children because it have obvious morals about not exaggerating, admitting mistakes, and working with others to get jobs done.
